Trip to Tada Falls - 2019

Hello,

Interesting Trip to Tada falls on the month of March. Tada falls or Ubbalamdugu Falls is in Varadaiah Palem mandal of Chittoor district in India. It is situated on the border of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. It is situated around 95 km from Chennai. Though the time taken in google maps says 2 hrs it will take much longer than that. This hugely depends on the road condition. When we went they were more take diversions sign board than the highway roads.

Some on the way photos...

Tada falls area is controlled and managed by the Forest Department of Andhra Pradesh. Once you reach the forest check post, buy ticket for your vehicle, your bags and vehicle gets checked by the forest officials. From there another 3 kms you can park the vehicle.

Route Map

The route shows three base stops. The first two are easy, the third is a bit difficult. Beyond that the map doesn't show any route but if you go beyond that you will probably reach Kalahasti hills.

First Stop.

This is the first base where a check dam has been built to make it as a pool. Ideal place for family, picnic people. For others proceed towards the next base which is another 2 kms away from this check dam. Remember to hear for the sounds of the stream otherwise you might get lost.

The path some place is muddy others rocky. This pathway is ok for everybody not much tedious walking. You will reach a point where natural pool has been made. One can relax here , you can also jump into this pool from a tall rock. Beware of the current of the stream and jump otherwise its not advisable.

Proceeding further is full of rocks, and it is not small rocks all are big boulders of the hill. There is no specific path you just have to listen to the sound of the stream and proceed. After 15-20 mins you will reach a spot where there is again a natural pool formation. But not much space is there so we proceeded further up and here the actual trek starts. Sometimes you need help to climb the rocks. Remember to carry water as it can be very tiring.

This is the last stop where anyone can enjoy, relax, swim, have natural spa etc. The location is just awesome. Too bad the stream doesn't have much water otherwise it would been a great waterfall.  sight.
